The purpose of a math assignment is to give students an opportunity to learn. Students get a chance to try out strategies, discover patterns, and check their understanding. Here are some suggestions to get the most out of your math assignments:
Try every problem on the assignment. If you get stuck, skip that problem and be prepared to ask questions about it in class the next day.
Don't stress if you get a problem wrong but try to figure out what you did wrong. If you cannot do this, be prepared to ask questions about it in class the next day.
Try to get your work done on time. If you cannot get it done by the next day, (I know that life happens) take more time to finish the assignment later. I will accept late assignments but try not tot be late all the time! (If you don't do homework during the week and you don't do homework over the weekend, when are you going to do homework?)
If you are getting jammed up on a worksheet, get a piece of scratch paper! You may always use scratch paper, just be sure to staple it to your worksheet when you hand it in.
If you fall behind, bring your assignments to my classroom to get help after school on happy face days.
